Hello! So glad you stopped by! A little bit about me:  I am a Wife, Mom, and a Reading Specialist.  I hold a B.A. in English Education, M.A. in Reading and Literacy, and various certifications in the fields of Education and Special Education.  I am passionate about helping others, especially children who struggle in school and in life.  I have spent countless hours attending workshops, trainings, and conferences to better understand Neurodiversity to be equipped with the tools to support my own children and the kids I work with.  I believe in educating the whole child - academically, functionally, mentally, and emotionally.  When I began the journey with my own son, I had little knowledge of Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, Dyscalculia, and Executive Functioning Skills.  I didn't know what any of the acronyms were: FBA, BIP, IEP, ESSA, the list goes on! It was not until I learned what all of those things were, the strategies and tools to use to support him, and spent time working with him that I saw improvements in and outside of the school room.  He had a fabulous Occupational Therapist and he met all of his goals, but he had a hard time implementing those tools at home and in the classroom. I came to the realization that it is pertinent to understand the reasons for the behaviors, the tools to support the needs, and to practice them in our home each day to provide overall improvement.

Is it easy? Not always. Does it take effort and time? Absolutely. Do I sometimes feel like a failure? Don't we all? Should we give up and not bother? I will bet each of us will respond with a resounding "NO!" We have our precious children for such a short amount of time, compared to how long they go off and live on their own, and I believe if we put the time in while they are young, help them learn what they will need to know to go out and do great things, then it is worth it!

Come join me on a journey to help our kids figure out their strengths and passions, learn the strategies to cultivate their gifts, and be the best they can be.
